It’s that time of year again! These FREE Outdoor Movie Screenings take place at Pier A Park, overlooking the beautiful Manhattan Skyline, located on First St. and Frank Sinatra Drive in Hoboken. Movies under the stars begin at 9:00 pm in June and July and around 8:15 pm in August. For the best seating, come early and bring a blanket or comfortable chair. You may bring food (no overpriced popcorn purchase necessary!), but alcohol consumption is not permitted and subject to a fine. Also, Assisted listening devices will be available upon request.

Wed. July 13 – The Martian (2015), 2h 24min., Rated PG-13; Golden Globe winner for Best Motion Picture and Best Actor, Matt Damon, stars as Astronaut Mark Watney who is presumed dead after a fierce storm during a manned mission to Mars and left behind by his crew. Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring him home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible, rescue mission. July 27 – Jurassic World (2015), 2h 4 min., Rated PG-13; Winner of the Hollywood Film Awards for Best Visual Effects and nominated by the MTV Movie Awards for Movie of the Year, stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. A new theme park is built on the original site of Jurassic Park. Everything is going well until the park’s newest attraction, a genetically modified giant stealth-killing machine, escapes containment and goes on a killing spree.

August 17 – Inside Out (2015), 95 min., Rated PG; Academy Awards and Golden Globe winner for Best Animated Feature Film, is a story about when young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Guided by Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness are all the emotions that live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind. As they help her advise her through everyday life, turmoil ensues. Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive as the emotion conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.
